Due to an uncertain staffing situation and unpredictable costs, we will not be able to offer a breakfast option until further notice from 2023 onwards.

Throughout the year, the Zembrod bakery from Fleischwangen delivers fresh baked goods to you on weekdays. Our hens contribute the breakfast eggs, and in the self-service cabinet, you will find homemade jams and local honey from our bees.

  • And take the bus

    Admittedly, public transportation in rural areas may not match the frequency city dwellers are accustomed to. However, the Bodenseekreis has recognized the changing times and, from Easter to November 6, offers a bus connection between Höchsten and Markdorf (almost) every hour until the end of the autumn holidays, with a stop in Azenweiler. From the bus station in Wittenhofen, connections to Salem/Überlingen or Ravensburg are also available. So, why not leave the car behind, take the bus to the lake or the city for shopping, and save on expensive parking fees? This new connection is also beneficial for hikers, allowing them to skip the steep ascent to Azenweiler at the end of their hike, for instance by boarding in Wittenhofen. Another option for hikers and vacationers is EMMA, the on-demand bus service.

It's summer time again!

  • Summertime - Bathing Time

    The sunshine of the past few weeks and rising temperatures have also caused water temperatures in the bathing lakes around our holiday farm to soar.

    With temperatures at 22 degrees Celsius or higher, you can plunge into the waters of Lake Constance, cool off in the idyllic Schloßsee near Salem, or swim across the hidden Illmensee in the Bodensee hinterland.

    At Illmensee, there is not only a beautiful natural lake with an adventure playground but also a close to nature circular hiking trail around the lake.

    The Schloßsee near Salem boasts well-maintained sunbathing areas, an exciting pirate ship, and free admission.

    Numerous bathing spots on the "Swabian Sea," (Lake of Constance) located 20km away, offer variety and something for everyone. If swimming becomes too dull, you can venture onto the lake with a paddleboat, try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, or observe swans and grebes.

At Franzenhof, you are not a customer but a guest, and you won't find staff here, but attentive hosts. Our aim is to ensure that your vacation days at Lake Constance become festive occasions for the whole family. Far from the hectic everyday life, you recharge your batteries, spend valuable time with your partner or family, and collect unforgettable impressions. Farm holidays are holidays to touch, feel, smell, and hear, to try things out, and at Franzenhof, you have plenty of space to unfold.

Amidst the enchanting Lake Constance landscape, Franzenhof is a place for adventure and relaxation alike. This summer, we also offer two pitches for the ultimate holiday adventure in your own tent or motorhome

Included in the overnight rate:

  • Waste and gray water disposal
  • freely accessible toilet in the basement of the vacation home (50m)
  • freely accessible hot water sink in the vacation house, and cold water sink outside
  • Our campers also have access to the infrastructure of the holiday farm, including a common room, play barn, barbecue area, play equipment, toy vehicles, and free access to petting animals
  • Pony rides are free within the usual scope

MOTORHOME SLOTS ON THE FRANZENHOF

Currently, we are offering two pitches for motorhomes, caravans, and tents on the edge of our spacious sunbathing lawn. From early April to the end of October, campers can now experience our hospitality and make extensive use of the holiday farm's infrastructure. Booked directly with us, you can enjoy this at 30€/night.

For an additional fee, you can receive:

  • Electricity: 4 euros per day
  • Our campers have access to the two showers in the wellness area for showering. You can get the key from your host. A cleaning fee of 3 euros will be charged per use.
  • In the basement of the vacation home, you will find a washing machine and dryer.
  • Roll service on weekdays.
  • We offer a wallbox for charging electric vehicles.

We live sustainability!

Traditional agriculture has always thought in cycles and inherently regionally. We have long been striving to manage our farm in a resource-efficient manner. We heat the entire holiday farm with wood chips from the waste wood of our own forest. Since 2003, photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the barns and stables have been producing ecological electricity. From 2022, you can now also charge your electric vehicle at a wallbox near the stable with green electricity, just like the electric bicycle in the bicycle shed.

What the father started, the son continues consistently: After taking over the farm in spring 2021, Alexander is currently converting the operation to completely organic farming.

How we interpret sustainability

  • We exclusively use green electricity and have replaced most of our lights with energy-efficient LED lights.
  • Beverage dispensing in reusable glass bottles - no plastic.We use ecological cleaning agents from the Sonett company in Deggenhausertal.
  • Food exchange platform.
  • Feeding leftovers to animals instead of throwing them away
  • A certain percentage of the cultivation area is reserved for flower meadows for bees and insects.
